Week 10: Ranma 1/2

Japanese manga’s been quite different from comics and cartoons. The drawing style, story, settings, humor; it’s pretty unique and I’m also a fan of manga and anime. Not just the drawing, but the material manga always brings is so braod and different from cartoons, it always interested me.
I’ve read Ranma 1/2 by Rumiko Takahashi. It is about male character Ranma, who changes gender depending on temperature of water he gets poured. It is humorous and funny because of Ranma’s reaction and side character’s reaction. It’s not something like it has huge and broad story—such as save the world, but it’s just enjoyable to read for fun. The part I liked about Ranma is Ranma himself knows he’s cute when he shifts to a girl, so he always uses that chance to screw over people or for his own good.
But personally feels like it may be more suitable for mature audience because of its sexual humor code; not the sensitive drawings but the moral It doesn’t mean I don’t like it, I still like the manga and admit it is interesting, but sometimes humor, sexuality, or other sensitive content from Japanese manga makes myself doubt if it is suitable for children to read.
