Week 13: Web Comics
Thanks to development of technology and internet, now we can see bunch of free or paid web comics online. Actually, I feel very familiar with these now because it’s an industry that’s developed so much in my country, Korea. Instead of having personal web space to upload, one big company hires authors to upload their comics weekly or so. So basically, instead of book marking each website, you can just go on a single website to read bunch of different comics. There are some reasons why I love about webcomics. It is easy to find, easier to choose what I want to read, and they’re not very long because it’s shortly updated every week. So instead of holding a comic book for an hour, I can just read it in ten minutes.
A webcomic I love to read is Denma by Youngsoon Yang on Line webtoon. It is sci-fi comic about boy named Denma, who is hired to work as delivery boy through out the space. It has very simple drawing, but it’s very sophisticated. There are lots of characters but because every character is very unique and identical, so you’ll never forget them. Not just because of character, but its own stylized sci-fi story is very interesting. It is very different from our world but similar at the same time. The way author draws out his world is very reasonable and understandable, which sometimes seems like it could happen in our world as well. Some episodes are very touchy, so I really would recommend to the ones who never read this before. This is the following link:
